Teaching today is not the same as it was just a year ago.

The global Coronavirus pandemic has forced schools to change the way they do almost everything.

While teaching through applications like Zoom was a necessity during the pandemic, it has become a new method of teaching which has its own pros and cons. It has also become an issue for teachers who can't monitor student engagement.

The list is endless: technological issues, some are texting on their cell phones, some are playing video games on another screen while others are talking with brothers, sisters, friends or parents in their house.

 

          The thing we call 'parenting' is a long stretch of decision-making on behalf of another person. It begins with questions about progress through more complex topics like discipline and social life, and we want to get it right for our children.

 

          Schools provide more than just academics to children and adolescents. In addition to reading and writing, students learn social and emotional skills, get exercise, and have access to mental health and other support services.

For many children and adolescents, schools are safe and stimulating places to be while parents or guardians are working.

 

           School during the Covid-19 pandemic may not feel like normal, at least for a while yet.

But, it continues to require everyone's support to make sure that it is healthy, safe and equitable for students, teachers, staff, and families.

At Fun to Learn, we make sure our students are safe, and through our reduced class sizes, we provide safe and effective education for children while maintaining social distancing in the classrooms, using well-ventilated classrooms and providing regular disinfection of all rooms after each class.
